VUUR is an exclusive use fire cooking dining experience situated on Remhoogte Wine Estate in the Cape Winelands. We only do one lunch booking per day at VUUR. We cater for a maximum of 10 diners inside during autumn / winter months (April to October) and a maximum of 12 diners outside at a table underneath an old oak tree during summer (November to March).
The experience at VUUR consists of a seven-course tasting menu that is paired with six Remhoogte Wine Estate wines at R1,850 per person (the cost includes food, wine and staff gratuity). We are open for lunch with a confirmed reservation only.
We also have a Heritage Menu option with the inclusion of some improved menu options and vintage wines. The cost for our Heritage Menu option is R2,900.00 per person (the cost includes food, wine and excludes staff gratuity).
Consumption of wine includes 1 wine per course and additional wine can be purchased after your meal by the bottle at cellar door price.
We operate on a minimum of 4 people booked per lunch (less people will still constitute paying for 4 diners in order to confirm your table).
Festive Seasons 2023 / 2024 we will require the minimum amount of diners to confirm a table to be 6.

SHARED TABLE EVENTS
VUUR will host a shared table once a month (or more) during which we will offer the diner an opportunity to join others to experience what VUUR has to offer. We will run these shared tables with a minimum of 2 guests as initial booking after which there are are no minimum number requirements. Please contact us for dates or keep an eye out on social media.
VUUR is a restaurant situated on a farm and our focus is providing the diner an experience of land and sea. We will showcase a menu that based on meats (beef, lamb, venison, pork), fish and seafood. Seasonal fruits and vegetables will be used in its full form or produced into purees and many other forms. We endeavour to accommodate most reasonable dietary requests with proper advance notice (at time of making the reservation).
Please note we can do a vegetarian (Lacto) or pescatarian tasting menu all cooked off the fire. Unfortunately we cannot offer a complete vegan menu option. We are not a Halaal or Kosher certified kitchen.
Please advise us well in advance of any serious allergies or health problems that we need to consider.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any menu changes on the day.
BOOKING / PAYMENT
All reservations will be paid for in full prior to arriving at VUUR. We will request a 50% deposit upon confirmation of your booking in order to secure the space. The final amount will be charged 7 days prior to your dining experience. If booking is made within 7 days of your dining experience then we will charge the full amount at confirmation.
We require a minimum of 4 diners to confirm a reservation. Festive Seasons 2023 / 2024 (19 December to 06 January we will require the minimum amount of diners to confirm a table to be six. Final payment will be due 14 days prior to the date of reservation.
All bookings are confirmed by full upfront payment. Additional extras like wine purchases, cigars and any extras are billed separately on the day. For cancellations or changes made within 7 days of your booking date, deposits or payments are non-refundable. For a duration of 8 days or more, we will only retain the deposit.
For reservations affected by any lockdown restrictions imposed by the South African government (i.e. curtailed operating hours or forced temporary closure of restaurants): we will hold all deposit fees to guarantee your booking for the next available and / or suitable date.
Bookings that are not secured with prepayment within 72 hours are automatically cancelled.
Unfortunately we do not accommodate infants for dining at VUUR. Parents who bring infants will have to make the necessary arrangements to ensure their child is taken care of. Children under 18 are allowed by previous arrangements and menu can be designed for them. The children are not allowed to leave the deck area at VUUR without supervision of the VUUR staff as it is a wildlife area and no liability will be assumed for any harm that might come from interaction with wildlife.
VUUR is situated within a wildlife management area on a working farm. It is important to take note that all visitors enter the game management on their own risk and it is recommended that all visitors refrain from leaving the VUUR deck area without the supervision of VUUR staff. No walking up to the animals or feeding is allowed at all.
